How to get over 'the worst day of my life'? D:?
It was the usual friday, you know. Hanging out with my "crew"? but anyway. I was having scuch a fun time! Until it all went down hill. My best friend was being a slut acting like this guy was her boyfriend or somethinnng, everyone didn’t care that i was upset, I was texting this guy (i thought we had a thingggg) pretending to be this guy named Ryan from Hebron who’s friends with me to get stuff out of him and then I find out that HE would never go anywhere with me because he’s too close with my brother and that he doesn’t think im one of the prettiest/hottest girls he knows, and then my friends were being kind of bitchy to me because i left for like only 10 minutes. I miss the old fridays. ‘It’s a tradition me and a group of friends have. don’t askkkk’ And I ran out balling of my guy friend’s house and ran to my best friend’s house to get my bag. Went inside the house and grabbed my stuff (still crying) and left the house. Sat on the porch, waiting for my mother to pick me uppp and then miranda’s mom came outside fucking yelling at me BECAUSE i was crying, asking me to spill but when i wouldn’t say anything and i said it was "my family" she yelllled at me! She said i couldn’t come over to her house for a long time, and that she used to like me but now she doesn’t because she thinks im bipolar.(she didnt say that but she was saying words like that haha) and then she kept saying stuff about like her daughters and how they were never like me and that miranda is an angel! and i couldn’t breathe and i was crying when she was saying all this stuff. and thennn when my mom pulled up, she was gripping onto my shoulder so hard i struggled to let go and i ran into a tree branch and it scratched my cheek and MY TEARS MIXED WITH BLOOD. When i go into the car, miranda’s mom said everything she said to me to my mom and my mom took HER side and said yeah well sometimes teenagers aren’t so nice, looks at me, and then says she’s just emotional and then we leave and then she yells at me and i yell at her in the car and then i come into my dad’s room gasping for air and my dad comforts me but it stilll haunts me. How do I get over it?!

I know i shouldn’t think about it, but it lurks in my head and I can’t get it out.

but today is Sunday…

well, due to the length of your problem i think that its bothering you alot.
im sorry about the time you had, Fridays are supposed to be happy.
i’ll have to go with sweetie on this one, a good movie is always a good crutch. for me its music and books. a bad day comes around not nearly as often as good days, so it makes you appreciate the good ones even more. just remember that even though time changes and people change, we shouldn’t let it make us unhappy. bend with change, sometimes it is for the better.

Give it time. You’ll be fine- things like this seem like the end of the world when you’re a teenager, but it’s really not that bad. If this is the worst day of your life, you’re pretty lucky- count your blessings!

Christians: What are your thoughts on the whole Tiger Woods thing? How do you feel when someone is put on a?
pedestal as a shining example of Christianity (don’t deny he was), visible to all, and yet again, as so may have before him, behave in a way that by most atheist’s standards is despicable and wrong?
How do you feel when your shining lights turn into damp squids?
Is it embarrassing that relentlessly your public figures turn out to be exceedingly immoral when compared with the average atheists principles of personal and social ethics?

How does it feel that time and again Christian public figures turn out to be amoral, having no moral standards, restraints, or principles, unaware of or indifferent to questions of right or wrong, just completely amoral people?
I would squirm a little if the prominent atheists in the public eye behaved as they do, a kind of self-guilt by association, thank goodness the atheists in the public eye are better behaved and not morally reprehensible.
If you want to be pedantic and argue against Tiger Woods being perceived/touted as a shining example prior to his woes, there are plenty of evangelists and other Christian public figures that could be cited as an example of amoral behavior.

Yep, him right along with all the other "god fearing" people….. like priests that molest little boys.

I think the fault is in the people who put him up on a pedestal. We should never do that, because people are always going to fail. I fail all the time. The same for all the Christian public figures. If you put these people on pedestals than you’re at fault, because they are people just like you and me with their own issues to deal with.

It makes me sad that someone messed up. But I am glad that I do have one shining example to look up to and he never failed or messed up, and that is Jesus.

P.S maybe this is because I live in Ireland but I never even heard that Tiger Woods was a christian.

1) Christians: What are your thoughts on the whole Tiger Woods thing?

Golf is evil? Is that what you want us to say?

2) How do you feel when someone is put on a?
pedestal as a shining example of Christianity (don’t deny he was),

Sorry – I have to deny that he was. I never knew he was considered a Christian.

3) How do you feel when your shining lights turn into damp squids?

Don’t know. Can’t recall it ever happening.

4) Is it embarrassing that relentlessly your public figures turn out to be exceedingly immoral when compared with the average atheists principles of personal and social ethics?

? Example, please?

5) How does it feel that time and again Christian public figures turn out to be amoral, having no moral standards, restraints, or principles, unaware of or indifferent to questions of right or wrong, just completely amoral people?

Seriously – can you name a single person alive today that has "no moral standards, restraints or principles"? Really? This is just a poorly-thought-out Christian-bashing, isn’t it?

6) I would squirm a little if the prominent atheists in the public eye behaved as they do, a kind of self-guilt by association, thank goodness the atheists in the public eye are better behaved and not morally reprehensible.

Right. Mao and Stalin were such great guys. Gotta love those Atheist morals.

It shows me they are still members of the human race.
He screwed up, and at least show humility and shame about it, while most of the Hollywood ilk flaunt their twisted lifestyle like it should be normal.
Atheists better behaved????
Are you stoned?
Atheists ARE NOT HELD TO A MORAL STANDARD.
They can live like the devil if they want (oops, sorry, i mentioned a spiritual being), and nobody says boo to them.
If a Christian gets his weenie stuck in the grinder, it is all over front page news.
The man/boy love association in California can lobby to have the age for sexually assaulting a child lowered, and no one raises an eyebrow, but a priest gets crucified (oops, sorry, religious quote there), if he allegedly groped some kid 20 years ago.
Magic Johnson is HIV positive and infects about 20 women, but is declared a hero by the media for ‘fighting the scourge of AIDS’
sounds like a double standard to me.
fortheimperium2003 | Dec 12, 2009

Tiger Woods is a guy who makes a living hitting a little ball with a variety of sticks. He is not a shining example of anything, Never was. He is a regular person who fell into a mildly entertaining game and happens to be good at it. Big deal.
If this stuff would have happened to someone who isn’t rolling in money, no-one would have given a rats a$$.
I don’t give a rats a$$ what happens to any celebrity.
Since your question is an athiest versus Christian rant, could you please list all the athiest celebrities?
The fact is any celebrity who professes any kind of faith(or lack of it) publicly is doing so to increase his own popularity and nothing else. Don’t even know if any of it is true.

I can only speak from my personal struggle. Before becoming a Christian, I was a sex addict and was by nature the most sour, angry person that you’d do anything to avoid.

Now… 6 years later… I can still lose my temper, but rarely… I still find myself saying things under my breath that I know are wrong, which happens too frequently… but I am no longer angry by nature. I have become so patient I have surprised everyone, including myself.

As far as sex goes… when God found me I was in a relationship that was unhealthy… and many times I took this guy back, justifying the sex all along thinking that God must want me to ’save’ him. But REALLY it was just me, justifying the great sex. I wanted commitment…. he didn’t. The irony is that I ended up being a booty call for this guy… and his nickname is ‘Jesus’ cuz he looks just like the pics with long dark hair, etc.

After being saved I was getting my heart broken, and nothing has changed as far as temptation and ill treatment goes. The difference is ME. I can handle anything. I’m a rock. It doesn’t mean I don’t sin…. I sometimes sin, and then realize later I sinned. I sometimes knowingly do it and make excuses for it… and then eat humble pie after.

It’s a daily battle. I can’t point a finger at any other Christian including Tiger, because I have a big chunk of wood in my eye and I can’t see clearly to take out the speck of dust in others.
Caveat Lector | Dec 12, 2009

I dont put anyone on a pedestal….Professional Athletes, Actors , Actresses, Politician, Entertainers, Christian leaders, ….what ever.. so it doesn’t bother me…when "man"….thats male /female….act in a manner that is not proper…moral…decent…..even the average laymen…has his /hers ….amoral behavior….I have no feeling for Mr Woods and his plight…..I couldn’t care less what happens….
Raven | Dec 12, 2009

Question #1: Atheist standards are absolutely non-existent and everchanging. To an atheist, there is no God, there are no morals, and there thusly isn’t even a law to obey. The societies you’ve established through either corruption or deceit, are what you claim to be your source of "morals." That means drinking, using drugs, partying, and promiscuity. And it most certainly doesn’t stop there. You have no sense of guilt, shame or regret. Its evident. You are your own "missing links."

Question #2: Tiger Woods is certainly no example of a Christian; a tree is known by its fruit. Open your Bible.

Question #3: 85% of men, and 65% of women in 5-yr marriages stray. Almost all are atheists. So I’d say Tiger, even if he claims to be a Christian, isn’t doing too badly. (Feel free to ask where I got this statistic).

Question #4: I’ve never even read this man so much as claim he were Christian, and if he did, that wouldn’t make a difference. Church girls for instance have a reputation of being the "easiest" things on the planet. And they’re Christian, too, right? Once again, a tree is known by its fruit.
Anon | Dec 12, 2009

This is typical and common among the carnally minded, whether they say they are a Christian or not, but in the end their fruit shows up for what it is. Long before this was revealed it was evident that he was not a follower of Christ, called a Christian, because he allowed himself too receive praise, and negotiated with the love of money, as do many other?s which allow themselves to be celebrities, under the cloak of calling themselves a Christian. If they, any of them that have allowed themselves to become a celebrity, had actually belonged to Christ, they would not have allowed themselves to receive glory of men, neither would they had been a lover of money and worldly success, but would have made themselves of no reputation. They would have kept themselves as the one serving, and not the one being served; and they would have never indulged in luxury. For this cause does God?s Word tell us that many will listen to false teachings of another Jesus, and another spirit, and another gospel, and go along with it. For they chose selfishness over unselfishness, which is all that Christ teaches and consists of; they chose immorality over morality, which is all that Christ teaches and consists of; and they chose dishonesty over integrity, which is all that Christ teaches and consists of.
We may live in this present evil secular world, but the true Christian will not allow their self to brought under the power of any, because they are sincere toward God, and trust Him; but it is the wicked that fall into mischief.
Truthteller | Dec 12, 2009

What? I thought he was an atheist.

"The emergence of a prominent evangelist for atheism would advance freethought in a number of ways. Currently, if atheists are acknowledged at all, the dialog starts from the basic question of whether atheists are good people or not, and typically the people commenting on that question are not atheists. Furthermore, the ‘role model’ aspect could by itself lend atheism a boost through positive association. Imagine the impact, if, say, Tiger Woods started to attend freethinker gatherings and involved himself in such issues as Boy Scout discrimination or posting of the Ten Commandments in our schools. This could only have a positive influence on these issues while at the same time elevating the image of atheists, giving people a real person (other than Madalyn Murray O’Hair) to associate with the word ‘atheist.’"

Well, that’s just it. You think people who believe what you believe are better than theists, which is why you would feel that way. I don’t think like that.
Alice in R&S Land | Dec 12, 2009

Christians are not perfect. We all make mistakes Christians, atheist, Hindu, Buddhist what ever, it’s how he responds personally not publicly, that will determine his relationship with God not mankind. So no squirming for me, it’s between tiger and God. Prominent Atheist’s misbehavior ? Lets see Hitler, Stalin, Idi Amin, the Chinese state just to name a few. And that list could go on as long as any of yours.

I have never heard anything said one way or the other about Wood’s religion or lack thereof.

I did a little Google search prior to answering this question and found nothing to tell me what his religion is. I did see that he missed the Baptism of his son which took place in Sweden.

His son wasn’t actually baptized, his son was sprinkled, which is an unbiblical act.

I suspect his wife is Lutheran, but the article didn’t exactly say.

I probably know 50+ Pastors from the Orlando area and none of them have complained to me that he had a professional golfer giving over 10 million dollars per year to the church and therefore offered me a million since he didn’t know what do to with it all.

Until this question, I’ve never heard any discussion about his religion.

I would like to know why, when someone messes up, they automatically assume the guy must have been a Christian.

Should I feel like this?
Im 18 years old and today my mom had a baby with her non-English speaking boyfriend. Her boyfriend and I do not get along and even if we did it would be really hard to communicate due to the language barrier. Any way I’m feeling very upset because it’s a boy and I don’t like boys because as a child I was abused sexually, physically, and mentally by my father and two other men. I’m am supposed to go with my sister to see the baby in the hospital, but I’m really upset because of everything. I feel like I’m so different in my family because everyone in my family speaks Spanish but me. I feel isolated and like my mom is starting a new life without me.

Thank you for reading this I know it was long and please no mean comments.

I feel very depressed. Caught my Boyfriend cheating?
I have been in a relationship for five years with a man who has major trust issues and is over protective to the point i have been accused of sleeping with well over 200 people.

I enjoy his company (most of the time) but we have always argued and there have been times when i wish he was dead.

He has been unemployed for the best part of five years while i work very long hours. On Thursday i left work early because of the bad weather and came home to find a man hidden under the bed. He told me it was just oral sex (not that it makes any difference) but he had the mirror propped behind the bed so this to me suggests it was more that oral sex.

I have told him he has to get his flat back (he rents out) and move. I have told him this contiuously since it happened but he still has not gone. Now I cant sleep and its making me depressed for work etc.

I have not been sexually into my partner for over 6 months now and know the best thing to do is to move on but am scared of being alone. He keeps telling me I will never find someone like him.

What is your advice???

T

Stay away and don’t talk to him for a while, dont let him make u want him
he has problems but u don’t need to deal with them

Its ok to feel depressed and its gonna suck but u cant give in
JetBlack | Jan 11, 2010

You need to leave him. People who accuse their partner of cheating on them excessively are the ones who are always cheating You guys seem to have a very unhealthily relationship and he seems to be using you. He hasn’t worked for five years, he needs you more then you need him. Him telling you that you will never find anyone is his way off way of making you insecure and keeping you from leaving him.
You are much better off with out him and you will find someone better eventually.
JayD | Jan 11, 2010

You’ll never find someone like him!? Hopefully you won’t ever again! An unemployed, overly jealous, cheater?? You need to kick him out, he sounds like a little slutty bitch!

I know it’s scary, the thought of being alone, especially after being with someone for 5 years. I dated a boy for 4 years, our relationship was TERRIBLE but I was scared of being alone, scared of entering the dating world.

Finally it ended, the first few months was hard. Eventually though, I found the best boyfriend ever!! I am so much happier then I ever have been in a relationship. You really can have a happier healthier life, and find someone who will treat you with respect!

I wish you the best of luck darling.

If you never find someone like him again you will be very, very lucky. This is a man who has used you financially, lied to you, made false accusations, and broken your trust. You are right to kick him out. You do not need this loser in your life and wasting your time. If he won’t move out then just bide your time until he goes out on an errand. Have large garbage bags and the number of a few locksmiths handy. When he does go out , call an emergency locksmith to come over immediately and have the locks changed. While you are waiting for the locksmith to arrive and while the locksmith is there, start packing his stuff into some large garbage bags. Once the locks are changed and you have packed his stuff, call him and tell him that he will find his stuff outside and to pick it up and take it away. Where he stays from then on is not your problem and it is time for him to man up and start supporting himself.

Of course you’ll never find someone like him, you’ll find someone better. Tell him that he has to go, he’s just ruining your life. If he doesn’t go get a restraining order on him so he’ll leave for sure. You’ll find someone way better than him.

He does not work .3. he accuses you of cheating, making him a hypocrite .4. He had sex with a man and lied about it (when he claimed just oral) .5. Time to time your relationship is so bad you want to kill him .6. you haven’t had sex with him for 6 months .7. he wont move out even after you kicked him out.
now for the good points 1. you wont feel lonely when his there (only miserable).
… I think the answer is pretty clear, dump the baster, kick him out and if he wont leave then call the police and do it TODAY.

I personally would get the fuck away from a person like that. I’m sorry to say it like that but if he cares that little about you to do shit like that..
NightFoxx | Jan 11, 2010

Firstly, I’m really sorry about this terrible thing happening to you. I really hope you are OK. I feel you have decided that you don’t want to live with him so you need to set deadlines to move him out as he’ll always find some excuse to stay. Talk it over and give him help to find somewhere else as he’ll NOT get his house back he rents out). You need to be firm and change locks, etc on the day of the deadline and be prepared for theatrics.
If you love something, let it go and see if it comes back to you. You shouldn’t worry about the future – e.g. about being alone. Just take one step at a time. Remember: your life is more important and you should get checked out for HIV, etc. just as a routine check-up (its only a prick & it will relieve you to know).

You work long hours. He hasn’t had a job for almost 5 years. You come home early from working…. and he is having sex with another guy. You havn’t been sexualy into him for 6 months. Its time to face it T Man. You dont need him. Why keep him around?
Brett H | Jan 11, 2010

"You’ll never find someone like him!? Hopefully you won’t ever again!"

@ Angel
couldnt agree more. :]

Im really sorry that happened to you, that must be horrible to endure.
I really think you should leave him, and it seems to me you do to.
Dont be scared, im sure you can get through it.
Your really gonna friends to support you through this.

10 other people in this forum agree that you can get do it,
so just do it. :]
Anthony | Jan 11, 2010

Honnestly. Leave him.
I know it sounds brutal and if you take my advice you’l most likly hate me..for about 5 months…maybe even a year.
Then 18 months will pass when your life is back on track and you’l meet an employed guy who won’t cheat on you. Youl be very happy that you left him in the past.

Trust me I know what I’m saying, I’ve seen so many people , including my mother and sister go down this path only to lead there lives in misery untill the cheating bastards got up and left them!!?

the quote "but we have always argued and there have been times when i wish he was dead."
shows this guy is not for you and…

the quote "and came home to find a man hidden under the bed"

shows you are not for him.

don’t get me wrong, somtimes people make mistakes and cheat on their partnes. They’re sincerly sorry and if forgiven they and their partner reunite with no more indescretions.

"He told me it was just oral sex" This guy doesn’t regret cheating on you. He only regrets getting caught. "just oral" he’s trying to justify himself. If he was truelly remorsful he would not try and justify his actions saying "just oral".

Inconclusion; Leave him.

Edit; He is right! You won’t find someone like him.
You’l find someone so much better =)

I would hope that you can A): get him to move out immediately or B): you move yourself out immediately. He is a user and a manipulator. Is being with him more important than your sanity?
I think not. Not only has he tried to manipulate you by threatening you, but he himself has been unfaithful and, baby, this is not the first time he’s tricked out on you, it’s the first time he’s been caught. You deserve to be respected and loved and this guy is just using you. Get some friends and get his ass out of the apartment, then change all of the locks and make sure that your neighbors are warned to call the police if he ever shows up again. You can also take out a restraining order on him, but usually just ending it is best. I know that you have tried and tried to make this work, but his jealousy and insecurity are driving you insane and that you can not afford. So, if he won’t pack up his stuff, you do. Pack it up in a box and put it and him out on the street.
Let him scream and yell and beg, but be firm. He is like a cancer that you need to excise from your body. You deserve a little happiness and being alone is better than never knowing what this creep will end up doing to you. Once he is out of your home and out of your mind for awhile, then you can venture out again and meet someone much nicer. When you meet your next boyfriend, make sure that you and he discuss what you both want out of the relationship. I know, when you meet that new hottie for the first time, it’s hormones and sex that seem the most important. But a man is more than just his equipment, and you know it. So get rid of him and get on with your life.
I wish you love and luck and happiness – everyone deserves that chance.

Firefighters have to free willy
24.09.09
QUICK-THINKING firefighters fired up a surgical saw to cut free a bodybuilder
who got his WILLY stuck in a DUMBBELL.

The dopey US muscleman, aged in his 50s, thought he could make his member
bigger by placing it through the hole of a dumbbell ring fastener.

But when the inch-thick piece of metal clamped on his manhood, it swelled up
badly and worried pals rushed him to hospital.

Doctors at the Hoag Memorial Hospital, in Newport Beach, LA, soon realised it
was an emergency and called in the local fire sevice to help.

It took two hours to cut through the dangerous dumbbell ring and the electric
saw sent sparks flying across the room.

Fire Chief Scott Broussard, of the Costa Mesa fire service, said: “They
slid a little piece of metal between the collar and his thing, so if it
slipped past it wouldn’t hit his thing.”

Chief Broussard also revealed why the bodybuilder did it.

He said: “They said his comment was, ‘This will make me the chief of my
tribe’.”

Keith Jones, deputy fire chief in Costa Mesa, added that the man’s blackened
manhood remained fully intact.

Worst baby naming trends of the decade?
I found this article called Worst Baby Name Trends of the Decade. I read it and then questioned, what are some of the worst names you have ever heard. Here is the article, read through it then let me know what are some of the strangest names you have heard and if you know someone with a strange name, let us know the story behind it!

Worst Baby Name Trends of the Decade

Here at Name Lady Central we see names of all stripes, from the common and conservative to the wild and woolly.

Most of them, even the woolliest, are chosen with love by well-meaning moms and dads. But a few name trends from the past decade have crossed the line. Here are the Name Lady’s picks for the worst name trends of the decade:

Selling Your Baby’s Name To The Highest Bidder
Did you hear about the expectant parents who put naming rights to their new baby up for auction on eBay? In fact, you’ve had plenty of chances to hear that since the year 2000. In the sell-from-home decade, several families have seen baby naming as an opportunity to pick up some quick cash. This year, one determined Arkansas mom re-listed her unborn son’s name auction five times. Her goal (unmet) was $20,000 to help pay the household bills.

Some of the eBay parents have seemed genuinely desperate, while others may have just been out for attention. Before you write them all off, consider one thing they had in common: They were trying to sell a name that belonged to somebody else, not their own. That makes them fitting emblems for a decade when more and more parents started treating baby names as creative fashion accessories.

Giving Your Baby A Corporate Trademark Name
There’s a natural overlap between product names and baby names. Parents may be attracted to a name like Sienna for a girl for the same reasons that Toyota was attracted to it for a minivan. But since the ’90s, the brand naming of babies has reached new heights. Labels like Nautica, Lexus and Armani have joined the ranks of America’s top 1,000 names, and almost no popular brand seems off limits. At last count, four American boys sported the name ESPN.

The U.S. doesn’t regulate baby names, but the more we bestow corporate trademarks on children, the closer we come to a brave new world of naming law. What does it mean when a corporation owns the rights to your name? What will happen to little ESPN if he wants to be a sportswriter, or to Nautica if she tries to design clothes?

Using Names As An Excuse To Make Fun Of People
Name insults are as old as schoolyard taunts. In this decade, though, adults have elevated baby name bashing to the level of blood sport. Whenever a new celebrity baby is born, the world waits with bated breath to tear the name to shreds. (In reality, most celebrity babies have perfectly normal names — Henry and Ava are favorites — but what fun is that?)

The most toxic name bashing uses names, real or invented, as a sly way to make fun of whole segments of our society. For example, one of the hottest Internet stories of recent years is the dubious tale of the girl named Le-a, pronounced Ledasha because "the dash don’t be silent." The most common version of that story concludes with the commentary, "And we let these people vote."

Making Your Baby’s Name A Tool To Advance Your Agenda
In December 2008, the Campbell family of New Jersey made international headlines when a supermarket bakery refused to write their young son’s name in icing on a birthday cake. The rejected name: Adolf Hitler.

The parents expressed shock and dismay at the store’s decision, but it soon became clear that they knew the score. The supermarket had rejected the Campbells’ requests before, and they had pointedly insisted on both first and middle names on the cake, not just Adolf. In short, the parents had set up a media event, using their child’s name as bait. Their whole Nazi-named brood and swastika-filled living room were soon being beamed to news outlets across the globe. How long before more zealots of every stripe follow suit, naming their children as living billboards?

Here’s wishing us all a new decade of loving, well-chosen names.

My friend has a brother named Ashby Kingston and another brother named Kingston Emerson Ohie
Elizabeth | Dec 29, 2009

Well those are pretty bad. I think the worst trend is using surnames as first names. How many kids are there with Mc at the beginning of their names? And then you have all the Madison’s, Addison’s, etc. as well.
Lisa | Dec 29, 2009

I hate the names that people give twins so that they rhyme. Or they have the same nickname. Like "Sam and Sam" (Samuel and Samantha) or Taylor and Tyler, Mitchel and Michelle, William and Meriam. It’s ridiculous.

My friend’s neice’s name is Mercedes like the car. And its a girl!
sunny | Dec 29, 2009

I think one of the worst baby naming trends of the decade is naming babies after cars: Bentley, Lexus, Mercedes…ugh!
Wife of an A1C | Dec 29, 2009

The worst has to be boys names on girls. Why stick your daughter with names like Madison, Addison, Jayden etc?
